Just a few bits and pieces to help you on your way...
Press L2 for team action!
1
At various times during the game a blue icon will appear on your screen, if you press L2 while this icon is on your screen you will give the command to your team (e.g: A picture of a satchel and pressing L2 will tell your team to plant a satchel, OR a picture of an arrow and L2 will tell your team to move to this point).
Use a silencer!
2
It'll give you that little extra advantage. Watch as those terrorists spin around trying to find your location.
Where's that checkpoint!?
3
Think ahead for checkpoints - At each checkpoint you get a boost of health and ammo, and possibly a revival of dead team mates, so if you're close to a check point and want to keep that weapon you have, then pull out a handgun for a while until you get to the check point.
When following the offline guide...

Most of the time I suggest you add AMMO to blank slots, but you don't have to, and you can survive without double ammo in most instances, and even if you run out you could pick up a gun. If you want to put something else then go ahead.
I suggest M4A1's as a weapon of choice, as it's my weapon of choice. If you want to use something else it shouldn't make much difference, except in instances where I indicate a terrorist location and say to scope him, as if you have a small weapon or one without a scope you may not be able to scope / reach.
I surrender!
5
Sometimes the enemy will surrender, by putting their hands up in the air. This is usually after an animation of them putting their weapon down, so it's reasonably clear to see. They will also no longer be a red dot on your radar, and have a green crosshair.
Go behind the enemy, and press X when you see the 'Restrain' option. An example is given below, although this is for a hostage not an enemy.
